Submit Your Music
Submission Requirements:
Submissions should be new and original. Tracks should not be released elsewhere or otherwise already available for download.
Submissions should be album-length, meaning a composition or group of compositions whose total length is between 35 and 80 minutes. The exception is submissions for Free Floating compilations, in which case individual tracks should be between 8 and 12 minutes.
Submissions should reflect the Free Floating Music mission statement. If I feel a release does not “fit” Free Floating, I will try to suggest possible netlabels that might be a better fit.
In order to provide a unified look and feel to Free Floating Music, cover artwork will be created by Free Floating. However, the input and suggestions of musicians will be an important part of the process.
All submissions will be released through Creative Commons non-commercial license. Musicians retain the ownership of their work. The decision as to whether the music can be used in derivative works will be up to each musician for each release.
Not all submissions will be accepted for release. Please be patient and understanding.
Submission Process:
Please follow the link below to the Contact Form and include the following information:
- Your full name.
- Artist name. (The name the music will be released under.)
- Album/Collection name.
- A brief statement (3-4 sentences) about the work; how you approached it, imagery associated with it, etc.
- List of track titles (in sequence) with running times.
Include a link to a zip file which includes all the tracks in MP3 format. (WAV files will be requested for final mastering purposes.) I really like WeTransfer for sending large files.
Please be sure to accurately tag all MP3 files with Artist, Album and Track Titles.
You will receive an email acknowledgement after I have downloaded the file. Please be patient while I review your submission. I will contact you when I have decided whether or not to release your music.
Thank you sincerely for sharing you art with Free Floating.
